A few famous partnerships to get us started:

  • Edison, Morgan, and Vanderbilt partnered to produce light bulbs.
  • The Wright Brothers partnered to develop flight.
  • The Warner Brothers have entertained us.
  • Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak partnered to revolutionize computer functionality and design.
  • Larry Page and Sergey Brin partnered together and produced Google.

What if someone offered you a partnership with massive funding and a global market?  Would you be interested?

I thank my God in all my remembrance of you,
always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy,
because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you
will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Philippians 1:3-6

Partner with Jesus.  Paul wrote that God had already begun a good work in them and would complete it.  That good work is salvation through Jesus Christ.  When you place faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ you are brought into the family of God.  You partner with Jesus at that moment to accomplish the task of world conquest together.  His power and reach with your skills and social ability are a great combination for reaching the world for Christ.

Partner with the Church.  Paul writes that the people have partnered together with him to accomplish the task given to them by God.  Today, believers partner together in the body of Christ as co-laborers in the mission.  We have all been given different abilities but all serve with the same partner – God.  Your local church has been provided with the necessary components to accomplish the task in your area.  Dig through your attendance records and uncover those unknown before.  You will discover a wealth of talent in your own back rooms.

Partner with the Community.  Spreading the Gospel is not an isolated event within the church walls.  This great action is done best when the people of the church partner with the community to provide for needs in a loving and caring manner.  Loving people into a better way of living was the modus operandi of Jesus.  Our great partner in this project modeled for us the way.  Why should we try to re-invent the wheel?  Find those need and places where your organization can make a difference: schools, nursing homes, apartment complexes, code enforcement, etc.  The possibilities are endless and the potential is wildly amazing!

A partnership is an arrangement in which parties agree to cooperate to advance their mutual interests.  God wants to reach the world with the Gospel.  We want the joy and blessings of fabulous returns on our investment.  He invested it all.  We can invest more.  The return is sure.
